I'm not supposed to be the only one hanging out with Sam and Dean Winchester in it 15 seasons long series Supernatural. I've just started watching it from the beginning, after watching the last three seasons that I have not seen.

Supernatural

During the years races I have been very divided to Supernatural. I did not start following the series until a handful of seasons in, but once I started I could not stop. Not until the season 12 (I think) I gave up, and then because I thought the content of the series became more and more unlikely and mostly just awkward.

But then it was announced last season out some years ago, and I thought ok – I'll be watching the final seasons, just because. And how oats; there is then absolutely nothing wrong with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. My personal favorite is Padalecki, but Ackles does not go off for picks, he rather.

Now I have seen all seasons, and decided to start over from scratch just to get the whole context back. And I can 't stop watching this time either (which time in the order I have lost count of a long time ago).

There are some TV series that are in a certain way. To be able to appreciate them, you have to accept that they are in that special way. Supernatural is one of these series. Star Trek, especially the older seasons, is also that way.

For those who have not seen Supernatural it is a series about two brothers who fight to eradicate evil in the form of various monsters. The further into the series you get, the more it is about extremely large contexts, religion and so on – and that was where I started to get tired. There is a lot of violence and some sex, even if the sex scenes are not very close.

But that which is all, The best thing about this series is the relationship between the brothers. On the one hand, it is extremely amusing to see their constant fuss, and I must say that the authors have really found the right language in sibling quarrels. Incredibly fun. But it is also so incredibly beautiful to see the intense love and loyalty the brothers have for each other, and to what length they go to be for their brother. This is, I think, what I think is all, most beautiful in the whole series. They go through several crises among themselves, but always gets through them and comes out on the other side.

Parts of it I'm bothered over the years is how the series has gradually taken on bigger and “worse” monster. Not everything is a monster either, for that part. But as the brothers say to each other; some of the monsters and others they encounter are real “dicks”. It took me a while, but in the end I thought it was too much.

But so was that's that with last season, and even if it came some years ago (I think) I have not seen it until now.

And I have to admit that I am somewhat put over the end. It did not end at all as I had imagined. I assume that you who read have seen the series, or do not care – but that both brothers were allowed to die in the end was perhaps not entirely unexpected (even though I personally thought of something completely different).

If I had had been involved in writing this series, I would probably have ended it with one or both brothers waking up from a dream, to a completely ordinary Svensson life. Maybe even as a child again, with his whole life ahead of him. With or without monsters.

Because even if I thought the last episode was both nice and good, it was a bit like the end of The Lord of the Rings. It never ended (already, obviously, men.. ). The end just went on and on, and once it really ended, it was fine in itself, with just a little sweetness all over it.

So I am not necessarily disappointed, but I also do not think it was the best ending to a TV series I could have imagined. Especially not a series like Supernatural.

I like Supernatural. It's a really nice series. Quite quirky in some ways, incredibly good in other ways, it is crammed with eye candy, it is sexist in a lot of ways, contrast-filled, extremely American in his attitude to family, humorous and entertaining, violent and loving… there, as it seems, I like it quite well, actually.

However, I am grateful that they chose to end it. There are few series that last this long, and before the last season was announced I got tired several seasons ago. It is difficult to get season after season with sensible content without dragging on more and more until it becomes unsustainable.

And with that says – it will be incredibly interesting to see Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles in future productions. Padalecki will be in a new series, Walker, so of course I have to see it.

Men Supernatural, it will always be there.

And for it who wonders; I watch my TV series Netflix and Amazon prime.
