Självporträtt

I like to think about things. I also like to question things – sometimes just for the sake of it.

I nerd myself into some things. Other things I am extremely uninterested in.

I have also become a climate change aunt, despite mine so far, in the context, young age.

On this blog you can read most of what fits in my world of thought. From social criticism to beauty 40+ to embarrassing stories to…

Welcome! 🙂

I have just, just yesterday, got home my new glasses. It's been a few years since I got glasses as an adult, and the last two years I have gone without. But for a year or so, my eyesight has deteriorated noticeably, and it has also become difficult to read. I have simply become a bitch. 😀

Test av smink bakom nya glasögon - and I like it! =)

So now have I my first pair of progressive glasses. And shit, what an adventure. Talk about cheap stuffing. I wear them all the time, and it's so sick fucking weird. It's a whole new thing to see. It's a whole new way of holding your head – if I thought yoga affected my posture, it will be even better now, with the glasses. It is also a new way of moving the head, and to follow the main movements with the eyes.

I'm incredible above.

So right now I spend my time looking in and out of my glasses, to compare how things look with and without. I discovered yesterday that if I look down for about 45 degrees angle and turns the head, then everything waves, changes shape and looks super foamy. I have also discovered that, for example, the street lamps on the street change shape depending on whether I look inside or outside the glasses. Though it probably has more to do with my astigmatism than the progressive. Yet. 😀

One of the reasons that I chose these frames is that I'm a girl, and I want to put on make-up. Now under Covid, it has been bad with just that thing, but my previous glasses were much stronger and took a lot of attention. Makeup behind them more or less disappeared, which has felt very boring. So this time I chose a pair of narrow, barrel, very discreet arches – and I must admit that I am extremely pleased.

So today could I of course do not give up. I put on make-up, just to see what it looks like with these frames. And I was extremely pleasantly surprised. These glasses do not take up as much space in the face at all, and my make up thus became clearer.

In other words, I went to Specsavers this time, and I have been incredibly happy with the whole experience. That I do not work with lenses is actually not their fault. But I really like the service I received, the treatment I received, and could not be more pleased.
